In Custer County Court on Friday, February 21, three area residents appeared to face felony charges.
44 year old Anthony P. Elder of Cozad was charged with possession of methamphetamine, 10-27 grams, a Class ID felony. Elder was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, a Class IV felony; tampering with evidence, a Class II felony; and criminal possession, a Class IV felony. Judge Tami K. Schendt set bond at $25,000 with a 10% privilege. Elder will appear for a preliminary hearing on March 10th at 2:30 pm.
40 year old Cody Wenzel-Wolsten of Sargent was charged with committing child abuse intentionally, a Class II felony, and assault by strangulation or suffocation, a Class IIIA felony. Bond was set at $50,000 with a 10% privilege and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 10th at 3:00 pm.
38 year old Adam R. Jesseph of Cozad was charged with possession of methamphetamine, 10-27 grams, a Class ID felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class IV felony. Bond was set at $25,000 with a 10% privilege. A preliminary hearing was set for March 10th at 2:30 pm.
In County Court on Monday, February 24, 35 year old Jonathan Beattie of Kearney appeared to face a Class IV felony theft charge. A preliminary hearing was set for March 27th at 3:30 pm and a $50,000 bond with a 10% privilege was continued.
