BROKEN BOW, Neb. – Fire crews were dispatched to the BD plant in Broken Bow shortly after noon on Friday due to reports of a fire inside the building.
Those who arrived on scene soon called for support from area departments.
Early in the 1 PM hour, KCNI/KBBN observed several area department trucks at the scene on standby and a ladder truck in the air on the west side of the building. No smoke could be seen coming from the structure. BD staff had been evacuated and the nearby armory building was made available for those who wanted out of the chilly wind.
Approaching 1:30 PM, the once quickened pace of crews was observed at a calmer rate as the ladder truck was lowered, equipment started to be gathered, and fire trucks began to leave the scene.
An official cause of the fire has not been released. This story will be updated if more information is made available.
