CPPD to Test 1,000 Transmission Poles in November and December

BROKEN BOW – Custer Public Power District will be contracting with SBS Inspection, Inc. to inspect approximately 1,000 transmission poles during this month and the next, according to a statement released by CPPD.

It has been proven, according to Custer Power, that this pole-treating program has helped to find the weak links in the District’s distribution and transmission system, which has resulted in fewer outages.

They will be testing transmission poles from Broken Bow to Merna, Merna to Anselmo, and Broken Bow to Haumont Substations during the months of November and December.

Customers may notice the service vehicles of the contractors, including pickups or ATVs, in pastures and fields as they treat and inspect poles. The workmen have been instructed to respect the customer’s property and fences and to re-close gates when they find them open.
