BROKEN BOW – The Custer County Court heard 4 criminal cases earlier this week.
Jeremiah C. Cranwell, 34 of Callaway, had his case continued until later this month. Cranwell is currently on probation and facing one allegation of theft by unlawful taking, 3rd offense, a Class IV felony.
James L. Barta, 33 of Broken Bow, did not appear to face 3 allegations: possession of a controlled substance, a Class IV felony, and possession of 1 ounce or less of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, both infractions. A bench warrant was issued for Barta, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for later this month.
Vincent J. Myslajek, 35 of Andover, Minnesota, did not appear to face three allegations: possession of a controlled substance, a Class IV felony, and two infractions: possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an open alcohol container. A bench warrant was issued in his case.
Jerry A. White, 59 of Sargent, appeared to face two allegations: terroristic threats, a Class IIIA felony, and disturbing the peace, a Class III misdemeanor. His case will move to a preliminary hearing later this month.
Two other defendants appeared for sentencing but ultimately had their charges reduced.
