Cooksley Complex Fire 50% contained as of 8:30 Friday morning

ANSELMO – The Cooksley Complex Fire is considered 50% contained this morning, according to a release from Custer County Emergency Management and Mark Finney, Anselmo Assistant Fire Chief.

The statement goes on to say, “Because of the magnitude of this event we are only beginning to assess the damage and we are very thankful that there was no loss of life.”

A large number of fire departments, aircraft, and volunteers assisted but an official count is not available yet this morning.
During the Cooksley Complex Fire structures were lost, an unknown number of acres, an extensive amount of hay, and possibly livestock. A disaster declaration for the Cooksley Complex Fire has been submitted.
Custer County Emergency Management and the Anselmo Assistant Fire Chief wish to thank the multitude of fire departments, emergency, and volunteers that assisted and remained on the scene this morning at the Cooksley Complex Fire.
