SARGENT- The community of Sargent is continuing to swim towards their goals for the swimming pool, and are now seeking input from the public through a swimming pool study.

Funding was recently awarded through the NDED Civic and Community Center Financing Fund to assist in determining the best method to address various issues with the pool.
Some asks on the 23 question survey include, “How often do you use the swimming pool amenities?”, “How do you rate the condition of the swimming pool amenities?”, “Would your household benefit from a splash pad?”, a select all that apply question of “What amenities would you like to see at the public swimming pool?”, and more.
Respondents are asked to complete the survey and return it to the city office by September 15. They may also be emailed to [email protected] or [email protected]. All answers are confidential.

The existing swimming pool in Sargent was built in 1960, with temporary improvements completed recently in 2022. The city requested an extension from the Nebraska Department of Environment & Energy, which allowed use of temporary pool piping for the 2023 and 2024 swim seasons. If required improvements are not completed by the start of the 2025 swim season, the survey states that the city will not receive their swimming pool operating permit.
