BROKEN BOW – The City of Broken Bow has issued a Public Safety announcement regarding the remaining snowdrifts impeding the line of sight at intersections throughout the city.
According to the release, the city will be spending the rest of the week, including Wednesday afternoon, clearing out those drifts to improve line of sight conditions, and is aware that over the past several weeks, children have been digging out forts at the drifts. The city understands that the activity is fun for children, but it can also pose certain dangers, particularly as city equipment will be attempting to clear the drifts.
City employees have been instructed to honk their equipment horns and wait to verify no children are in the snow piles, but the worry persists that not all children will respond. The City thereby requests that for their safety, children do not play in the snow piles as the heavy equipment begins and continues its work throughout the coming days.
