BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow City Council held its last meeting of November on Tuesday the 28th. Paul Holland was not present but his absence was excused. 
To begin, the council approved the minutes of the November 14 meeting and approved the bills as posted.
Under other communications, Fire Chief Dustin Watson and Electic Superintendent Blake Waldow spoke on fire safety. Both spoke about different forms of fire safety, such as changing the batteries in your smoke alarms twice a year, making sure your chimneys are swept once a year, and making sure that if you have a fireplace, the coals are out before you go to bed.
Blake Waldow also stated that if a tree is touching a powerline, to call 308-872-6884 if during business hours and 308-872-6885 if after business hours.
As always, the number for fire emergencies is 9-1-1.

The council approved the 2023-2024 snow removal bid. The only bid was from Myers Construction. All members approved the bid except Chris Myers who abstained from voting.
The council also chose to approve the cancellation of the second meeting in December that would have taken place on December 26. The council also approved to go ahead and pay the bills for the December 26, 2023 meeting.
For closing statements, the Mayor thanked the Chamber for putting on a wonderful Festival of Lights and also thanked Kandi Peters for her time as the City of Broken Bow Clerk.
The next meeting will be December 12 at 6:00 p.m. and as always, is open to the public.
