BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce is hosting the second annual Donut Dash on July 8, at Melham Park.
The event takes place in the midst of Broken Bow’s Crazy Days. The idea of the event is to draw people with the promise of donuts at the end of the race. The donuts are from Daylight Donuts and will primarily be plain glazed donuts.
The race will start and end at Melham Park. It will be 5 kilometers or 3.1 miles. There will be a water station in the middle of the route. They will have the route clearly marked, but you can also find it online on the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
Check-in for the race will start at 8 a.m. in the east parking lot at Melham Park. The actual race will start at 9 a.m. and there is no time limit.
When speaking to Stephanie Grafel of the chamber she said that some people take their time walking, while others treat it as a fast-paced race, but it is all up to you and how you would like to do it.
“It can be a quick race for some and leisurely for others.”
To register it costs $25. You can register at any time, even on the day of the race.
Registration can be accomplished through the Chamber of Commerce’s website, in person at the chamber’s downtown Broken Bow office, or on the chamber’s Facebook page. The later you register, Grafel told us, the less likely you are to receive a t-shirt. No matter when you register, however, you are guaranteed a donut.
