Custer County Economic Development is seeking out the public’s input regarding a proposed creative district in Broken Bow through a recently released survey.

In an email, CEDC Executive Director Keith Ellis explained that the goal of the survey is for aiding in strategic planning for the grant preparation for the project. The “Bandstand on the Bricks Creative District” would be a designated area to serve as a hub for artistic expression, cultural events and community engagement. The primary objective of the Creative District is to foster creativity, support local artists and artisans, celebrate cultural diversity, and to enhance Broken Bow’s quality of life through arts and humanities initiatives.

The project and funding will not require any local match from businesses and the footprint of the proposed district would include 118 businesses within it’s boundaries.

Those responding to the survey are asked to do so by October 6.

In addition to the survey, the public is invited to get involved by asking questions of the partners of the event (the CEDC, The City, Broken Bow Chamber, Broken Bow Public Library, and the Custer County Historical Society), and by talking to friends and family about the creative district.
