The Custer County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) made three DUI arrests and issued 44 citations during the recent Nebraska Department of Transportation Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.
The statewide campaign ran from August 21 through September 7, with CCSO increasing enforcement efforts aimed at identifying impaired drivers and addressing traffic violations.
During the campaign, Custer County deputies conducted 78 traffic stops. In addition to the three DUI arrests, deputies made an arrest for possession of a controlled substance and a felony arrest for domestic assault.
Of the 44 citations issued during the campaign, 20 were for speeding violations, two were for stop sign violations, and one was for leaving the scene of an accident.
Deputies also issued three citations for possession of marijuana and three for possession or use of drug paraphernalia.
CCSO is asking motorists to make responsible decisions behind the wheel, to never drive while impaired, and to obey traffic laws to keep Nebraska roadways safe.
