Callaway offering 4th of July fireworks and more at ballpark on Tuesday

CALLAWAY – Callaway will be holding a 4th of July celebration Tuesday evening at the ballpark, with more than just typical explosives.

The event will still offer a fireworks display, however, which is set to go off at dusk. In the meantime, the American Legion Post 59 will hold a flag retirement ceremony at 8 p.m., as well as a posting of colors at 9:30.

Music will be provided by Borderline, and the Callaway EMTs will be offering tours of their new ambulance throughout the evening.

The American Legion Auxiliary will be providing complimentary popcorn and water, the Callaway Market will give out ice cream sandwiches, and Callaway’s Plant Stand will be providing cotton candy.

The event is made possible by Sue Phelps and her family; admission is free, though donations are appreciated and can be made to the cause at Nebraska State Bank or in person on the night of the event. A flyer is attached.
