The Callaway Volunteer fire department will be keeping an eye on two homes in Callaway planned to be burned down on Monday night.
Chief Dan Trumbull said that the burns, which are scheduled to take place near 301 Grand Avenue starting at 6:30 PM, are not necessarily for training but are more of a monitoring job.
Callaway’s department will be the only department on site, Trumbull said, and the burn will only take place if weather conditions are favorable.
The public has been asked to avoid the area during the burn.
