The Callaway District Hospital will promote health, well-being, and the resources available in the area as they host a community health fair tomorrow, Thursday, July 23.
Starting at 10 a.m., the health fair will be held at Morgan Park in Callaway. If there is bad weather, the fair will be moved to the Callaway Community Center.
The health fair will include multiple presentations. The first presentation will be Intro to Pickleball from the Great Plains Region USA Pickleball Ambassador, Barb Baldridge. Then at 11:30, Tessa Keeney, PA-C, and Bethany Rheiner, PA-C, will present Lunch With the Providers. They will talk about overall wellness and the importance of scheduling yearly check-ups and screenings.
Morgan Park will also host over 30 vendors, including the Callaway Good Life Center, Team Physical Therapy, Callaway EMS, AgriSafe, multiple home health care assistant agencies, Loup Basin Health Department, Melham Medical Specialty Clinics, and more. There will also be an area for car seat checks from a certified expert.
Starting at 11 a.m. is the free BBQ, serving pulled pork sandwiches, salads, chips, and water. The Callaway FCCLA will sell dirty sodas as a fundraiser, and raffle tickets will be available for the chance to win a variety of gift baskets. There will also be a kids’ corner with games, temporary tattoos, crafts, and more.
Cassie Penn, COO of Callaway District Hospital, explained that if there are any questions, concerns, or anything that should be added, to reach out to them.
“And we ask that if you see something that’s not there for next year to let us know. We will find a way of getting that resource to our community,” stated Penn.
