BURWELL – A Burwell man was arrested for attempted murder after a shooting at a rural Garfield County livestock facility.
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at approximately 11:23 a.m. Wednesday to the facility where a 52 year old Garfield County man had been shot. The release did not provide details on what led to the shooting.
In relation to the incident, 55 year old William Weber Jr. was arrested without incident at the scene and transported to the Valley County Jail on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, and Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony. He is being held on bond set at 10% of $500,000.
The victim in the incident was transported for medical treatment for a gunshot wound.
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Nebraska State Patrol on the investigation, which is ongoing.
