BROKEN BOW, NE – A small crowd gathered on the north side of the Broken Bow square Saturday evening to see Chris Shelby receive the gift of a motorcycle and camaraderie. Wheels 4 Warriors USA (W4W) was on site to make Shelby the 46th veteran their organization has given a set of keys to since 2016.
Shelby began his journey in military service immediately following high school, was first deployed to Afghanistan, and has a current goal of becoming a Sergeant 1st Class. At the age of 30, he was able to achieve his childhood dream by attending and graduating from the Nebraska Law Enforcement training center before joining the Broken Bow Police Department in 2022.

The motorcycle Shelby was given the keys to came from a fellow veteran who calls Sacramento, California home. The Vietnam veteran wanted his bike, that he couldn’t ride as easily anymore, to go to a veteran.
In addition to the motorcycle itself, the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA) teamed up with W4W to include safety equipment (including helmet, gloves, boots, jacket, and chaps), insurance for a year, fuel for a year, taxes, tag, title, registration, and a one year service agreement to Shelby.

With handshakes, hugs, and smiles shared Saturday afternoon the following W4W website statement was certainly confirmed: “Wheels 4 Warriors USA is not just about providing a completely free motorcycle; it’s about fostering camaraderie, offering support, and instilling a sense of service in each of our veteran recipients.”
