The Broken Bow Public School (BBPS) District will meet on Monday, September 22 at noon for the 2025 – 2026 Budget Hearing.
Action items to be undertaken by the School Board at the meeting include the Budget Hearing itself, an Amendment to the 2024-2025 Budget, and the Tax Hearing.
According to BBPS Superintendent Darren Tobey, the overall regular budget ask for 2025 – 2026 will be the same as last year’s budget. The tax levy to be set at the Tax Hearing will be slightly over $.84 for every $100 of property valuation.
Due to ongoing upgrades at the Broken Bow Junior/Senior High, the district will amend the 2024 – 2025 budget from approximately $11.6 million to $12.6 million. Included in the revision is $500,000 transferred into the Depreciation Fund to cover non-construction costs such as equipment for new and updated classrooms.
The full agenda for the September 22 BBPS Budget Hearing can be found on the District Website. Citizens with questions or concerns about this or any other governmental matter are encouraged to attend the open, public hearings and meetings. Participation in these meetings not only allows an individual’s questions to be answered, but provides important feedback to government representatives and officials about their constituents’ expectations.
