Broken Bow Public Schools Celebrates Record-Breaking Academic Success in 2024–25

BROKEN BOW- Broken Bow Public Schools is celebrating their record-breaking academic performance across the district in the 2024-25 school year.

District-wide, the schools achieved an 80% proficiency rating in all three core subject areas- a milestone that reflects the relentless focus, dedication, and teamwork of the entire educational community.

Additionally, more than 50 individual Top 5 records were broken by students across the district. In Math alone, students at North Park, the Middle School, and the High School all set new performance records- an incredible achievement that shows growth at every level. North Park also broke records in both Language and Science, while the High School students set a new all-time high in Science performance.

“This didn’t happen by accident. Six years ago, we committed to the PLC (Professional Learning Communities) process. That decision—combined with our amazing staff rolling up their sleeves and doing the hard work—has made all the difference. Our team is all in for student success, and it shows,” said Superintendent Darren Tobey.

The district is not only excited about the numbers, but about what they represent: students growing, teachers thriving, and a community united in the belief that every child can succeed. When state results are released later this summer, the district expects to see even more dramatic gains that reflect the incredible momentum they’ve built.

The district thanks the students, families, staff, and the entire community of Broken Bow for believing in the power of education and for supporting their mission. The future is bright, and they can’t wait to see what’s next and grow together.

The bar has been raised as Broken Bow Public Schools celebrate an extraordinary academic year filled with hard work, perseverance, and record-shattering achievements. In what has already been a year to remember, several students have gone above and beyond, setting records in their respective grade levels on the MAPS assessments.

These students include:

  • Jace Lewandowski – 6th Grade Science
  • Evan Sughayar – 7th Grade Math

“I am truly impressed with the dedication our students have shown and demonstrated this year. I love the competition these students bring to the table—it’s a hunger to excel academically that is contagious and inspiring to all,” said Tobey.

Tobey said these students are not just names on a list; they’re setting the tone for what it means to work hard, compete in the classroom, and raise the standard for academic excellence. Their achievements highlight the powerful combination of personal drive, outstanding teaching, and the continued focus on growth within the district.
