Broken Bow Public Library to Welcome Guest Speaker, Dr. Chuck Peek, this Month

The Broken Bow Public Library continues to serve the community and area with several activities and events planned for the month of April.  Recently, the Broken Bow Library was recognized at the Broken Bow Chamber Banquet for its 115 year anniversary.  Speaking on KCNI’s Public Affairs, library director Megan Svoboda thanked city administration and community members for their support of the library over the years.

“Yes we were honored with 115 year anniversary.  We have had some remarkable staff members and mayors and different people that we have worked with, city administrators, across the years and it takes a whole community to continue to support the public library.”

During those 115 years, the library has brought in special guests to entertain, inform, and educate the public.  On April 15th at 5:30, the library will welcome retired UNK English Professor Chuck Peek to Broken Bow as he shares thoughts on famous Nebraska author Willa Cather.  Svoboda said the library is honored to be able to host this special presentation.

“Dr. Peek is coming because we had a patron request that he come.  They had him as a professor at UNK…he is very entertaining and a remarkable speaker so I would encourage everyone to come and welcome Dr. Chuck Peek on April 15th at 5:30.”

Other highlighted activities for the month of April include “Glow in the Dark Storytime and Easter Egg Hunt” on April 17th and “Family Music Bingo Night” on April 25th.
