Broken Bow police officers made 58 traffic stops during the recent “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign which ran from Dec. 11, 2024 through New Year’s Day, 2025.
Of the 58 stops, 10 citations and 48 warnings were issued to drivers, along with various vehicle defects. Citations and arrests during the 3-week period included 2 minor in possession charges, 2 procuring to a minor charges, as well as a DUI, possession of a controlled substance, speeding and stop sign violations.
During the campaign officers responded to over 100 calls for service, including reports of suspicious activity, welfare checks, thefts and domestic disturbances.
The campaign allowed officers to work overtime hours to decrease the number of drunk and impaired drivers on Broken Bow streets and was funded by the Nebraska Department of Highway Safety.
