The Broken Bow Public Library has announced new hours of operation starting in April. The library will now be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There are plenty of activities planned for the month of April at the library for all ages. Chair yoga sessions will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 2 p.m. throughout the month.

The 2024 Young Children’s Art Show will be on display at the library from April 6th to the 27th, showcasing the creative talents of local kids throughout Custer County.

In addition, there will be a scavenger hunt throughout April where participants can spell out a mystery sentence for a chance to win a prize! Make sure to ask the front desk for a sheet.

For families with young children, Tots and Toys sessions will take place on Mondays at 10 a.m., offering stories, songs, activities and playtime for kids ages 0 to Pre-K. Lapsit Storytime for the same age group will be held on Fridays at 10 a.m.

Homeschoolers are invited to explore STEAM topics on Thursday, April 18th from 2 to 3 p.m. Stop in at the library or call 872-2927 to sign up children 5 and older.

Teens are not forgotten at the library either. The Teen Advisory Board meets once a month and helps plan programs, volunteer for events and give recommendations for teen library materials. There will also be a Teen Mystery Karaoke event on April 19th where participants can come dressed as their favorite character for a chance to win trophies.

Families can also sign up for Family Fort Night on April 22nd from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Bring your flashlight and your best fort making blankets for a fun night!

The Take a Break Book Club will be meeting on April 30th at noon to discuss Jojo Moyes’ novel, “The Giver of Stars.” Also on April 30th, Denise from Central Plains Library Systems will lead a Cricut Workshop where attendees can make designs for reusable bags and more.

Author John Ambruster is set to visit the library on May 22nd at 6:30 p.m. to discuss his book “Tailspin” which is now available to check out.

As summer approaches, keep an eye out for details about the free Summer Reading Program running from May 21st to July 3rd at the Broken Bow Public Library. With so much going on, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
