BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow Public Library is slipping into an event-filled December.
The “Share the Joy of Reading” Book Drive is happening now and will continue through Wednesday, December 13. You are invited to drop off new or used children’s books in good condition. The Library donates these books to the Doe’s Organization which will use the books as part of its gifts for the Children’s Christmas Fund.
The drop box is also open now, and if you drop off your overdue materials on “Fine Free Friday” you do not pay the overdue fee.
The Broken Bow Express will be running on December 4 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The library is also hosting its “Twelve Books Before Christmas” and you are invited to sign up before December 8 by calling (308)-872-2927. You can then pick up your surprise books by December 11 or 12th. The library will wrap 12 surprise books that have been checked out to your family, one for each evening 12 days before Christmas for you and your children to unwrap and read together.
On December 6 from 5:00-6:30 p.m., the Library is hosting a Christmas Ornament Painting Party. The ornaments are made by the glowforge machine, and all money raised at this event will go towards maintenance of the glowforge machine. Included will be wassail and cookies.
December 18 brings us to the Holiday Cookie Exchange. You are invited to bring four plates with a dozen cookies on each, along with the recipe to exchange with others. Hot cocoa and holiday music are included. This goes from 5:30-6:00 p.m.
Tricia Wentworth will be making an appearance on December 28 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. to celebrate her new book “Enchanted Queen.
