BROKEN BOW- The Broken Bow Public Library has many fun events coming up in the month of August.

The Broken Bow Library has partnered with UNL to bring community access to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). This program is designed for adults 50 years or older. More details will come out later as free classes will start soon.

The Take a Break Book Club will meet on Tuesday, August 27. They will be discussing the book The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianee Cronin. Stop by the library to pick up a copy.

Throughout the month of August, a scavenger hunt will go on at the library. Ask the front desk for a sheet to participate. All of the summer pictures on the sheet are hiding in the library along with a secret letter. Spell out the mystery sentence and bring the sheet to the front desk for a prize.

The Custer County Ralkers, a free walking club, will continue to meet every Wednesday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Library. Participants will walk at least one mile. For more information check out the Ralkers Facebook Page or contact the Library at (308) 872-2927.

This year, the library hosted 25 programs for children over the six-week summer reading program including the final party. Each week the children read about different adventures. The library had 191 children register for the summer reading program. The average weekly attendance was 289, and the total attendance including the final parties was 1,648.

The Broken Bow Library is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
