Broken Bow hospital, medical clinic discussing potential merger

BROKEN BOW, Neb. – Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center (JMMMMC) and Central Nebraska Medical Clinic (CNMC) in Broken Bow have started exploratory discussions about a merger, according to a Tuesday press release.

The announcement comes after what is described as ‘more than a year of thoughtful conversations, collaboration and relationship building’.

“While nothing is committed or finalized, this is a great step forward for the communities we serve,” said Kyle Kellum, CEO of JMMMMC. “The providers and team at Central Nebraska Medical Clinic are outstanding, and we feel fortunate to begin these discussions and see where they take us.”

Though still early in the process, both organizations believe this opportunity has strong potential to enhance care coordination, streamline services, and preserve access to the trusted providers already serving the area.

“This potential merger reflects our mission: Partnering with you to inspire healthy living through quality care,” said Kellum. “It aligns with our values of integrity, respect, and responsibility, and it shows how our dedication to the communities we serve continues to shape a healthier future. We are stronger together.”

The exploration process is expected to take several months.
