Broken Bow FBLA to send 12 members to national conference
Broken Bow's FBLA chapter brought home over 40 total awards from last week's state conference in Kearney, including 12 national qualifiers.

BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow FBLA recently attended the 61st State Leadership Conference in Kearney; 1,961 members from 139 chapters statewide came to represent their schools and communities, with a chance to represent their state in the national conference in Atlanta this June.

Thirty-one of those almost 2,000 students belonged to Broken Bow; the chapter brought both middle and high schoolers to compete in competitions ranging from presentations to projects and testing. Each FBLA student was required to commit to 16 or more study hours in order to properly prepare for the event.

The work paid off for the Broken Bow chapter: the students took home 15 1st through 3rd place prizes and an additional 32 top 8 awards. Broken Bow’s FBLA had 12 members qualify for the national conference.

Emmett Palmer ranked 2nd in “Middle School Elevator Speech” and impressively took home the conference’s Young Leader Award. Broken Bow’s first-place finishers, and national qualifiers, were as follows: Keelyn Shea in “Introduction to FBLA,” Maggie Peterson in “Introduction to Public Speaking, and Brielle Hamel-Evans, Charlee Myers, and Ruby Russell in “Public Service Announcement.”

Ethan Wenquist and Evan Cyboron brought home second place in “Sales Presentation,” and Kennadi Ross finished second in “Human Resource Management.”
