BROKEN BOW—Fourteen Broken Bow students will be traveling to Atlanta, Georgia this summer to participate in the national Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) conference. FBLA students are aiming to raise $22,000 to cover trip expenses. One fundraiser includes selling Eileen’s Cookie dough for $20 per tub. Contact an FBLA student or sponsor Angie Palmer at [email protected] to place an order by Friday, April 28. The delivery date is estimated to be during the week of May 12.
Freshman Charlee Myers told KCNI/KBBN she and her fellow FBLA members attended the state leadership conference where 14 Broken Bow middle/high school students then qualified for nationals.

“It [FBLA] really lets you get a head start to learning about how businesses run and work and how to work with others especially, and know what to do in certain circumstances. It just gives you a big head start and it’s a lot of fun too!” Myers told KCNI/KBBN.
Myers along with teammates Brielle Hamel-Evans and Ruby Russell placed first in Public Service Announcement at the state conference and are excited to present their project at the national level. Their PSA was a video focusing on the important topic of suicide and other effects of COVID-19 on teenagers
“I think our group did a really good job keeping it very serious with our video but we ended up getting first so that’s good and we’re excited I think to head down to nationals,” Charlee Myers said.
Myers said she appreciates the support of any cookie-loving patron who is hoping to help send the Broken Bow FBLA team to Georgia.
“I just like to give everybody a lot of credit that made it to nationals because you have to have a certain amount of hours to make it and it’s a lot of work but it’s totally worth it in the long run and if you ever consider doing it, I just say go for it and it’s a lot of fun!” Myers said about the benefits of joining FBLA.
