The Broken Bow City Council met for its regular session Tuesday evening, September 9. Councilman Joe Wamsley was the sole member not present.
After approval of minutes and bills in the consent agenda, Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center Executive Assistant and Marketing Coordinator Rebaka Anderson provided a brief discussion of the Healthcare on the Square event coming up on September 18th.
As a recurring event, City Administrator Dave Schmidt will authorize closing South D Street on the north side of the square to support event activities.
In New Business, the council re-scheduled the Budget Hearing originally scheduled to occur in conjunction with the evening’s council meeting. Schmidt stated the new accountants that the city is working with discovered an error in notification to the newspaper, delaying completion of the budget. However, the city still has time to meet the state-mandated September 30 deadline to finish the budgeting process.
The Broken Bow City Budget Hearing will now be September 23, at 4:30 PM, with the regular city council meeting to follow.
