Broken Bow City Council agenda: May 23

BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow City Council will hold its final May meeting on Tuesday, May 23 at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building’s Auditorium.

The council will consider approving the minutes of the previous meeting, the city and utility bills as posted, the April Treasurer’s report, and a fireworks application from Troy’s Hot Rocket Fireworks of Cozad.

In other communications, the council will recognize Police Captain Dan Hanson’s service to the community as he prepares to retire, and discuss the ACE Choice Program for Broken Bow’s DYO Spirit softball team.

The council will also consider a variety of appointments in new business, including Jacob Holcomb as Broken Bow Zoning Administrator, City Administrator David Schmidt as Zoning Co-Administrator, and Kelvin Kreitman and Josh Page to the Park Board for terms ending in February 2026.

Additionally, the city council will also have consideration of approving Mayor Sonnichsen, City Administrator Schmidt, City Clerk Kandi Peters, Deputy Clerk Jacob Holcomb, Treasurer Megan Linn, Police Chief Steve Scott, and Council President David Baltz as authorized signers for various city financial accounts.

The council will also consider approving Mayor Sonnichsen, City Administrator Schmidt, and City Clerk Kandi Peters to be authorized names on the city’s safety deposit box at First Interstate Bank.
