BROKEN BOW – Nothing marks early summer in Broken Bow quite like the annual Alumni Weekend, and right on schedule, the itinerary for the weekend has been released. This year, the celebration will go from Friday, July 14 into Sunday, with the centerpiece lunch on Saturday.
The weekend offers a chance for Broken Bow alumni from near and far to set aside a few days to catch up with their schoolmates in town.
Starting at 4 p.m. on Friday and running through 6 at the One Box Convention Center registration for the weekend will open. The Broken Bow Alumni Association encourages everyone in town to stop by the center to keep their contact information current. Tickets for Saturday’s lunch will be sold at that time, as well.
On Saturday, at the One Box once again, the All-Alumni Luncheon will be held. The Alumni Association invites all alumni and guests to attend, provided they are registered.
The meal will consist of roast beef, potatoes, green beans, a salad, roll, and dessert, all for $20.
Honored classes for the year will be recognized, which are those whose years end in “3” and “8.” The Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented during the lunch, as well.
After lunch, both the middle and high schools will be open for tours starting at 2 p.m.; alumni are encouraged to tour the buildings at their leisure.
