Boil water order lifted in Sargent

SARGENT, Neb. – The City of Sargent has announced that a boil water notice that was issued last Friday (May 30) has been lifted.

In May, E. coli bacteria was found, indicating the need to look for potential problems in water treatment or distribution. An assessment to identify and correct problems was conducted. Customers were encouraged to boil water before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, or preparing food.

Corrective actions listed on the boil water order were chlorinating the water and fixing a water leak.

The city apologized for any inconvenience and thanked the public for their patience.
