CUSTER COUNTY – The Custer County Board of Supervisors held its meeting on Monday morning. Tami Kleeb with District 2 was the only member absent.

The SINE and Die for 2023 was reorganized and Barry Fox was nominated as temporary Chairman by Charles Blowers, which the Board approved.  Anne Gibbons and Charles Blowers are on the committee for organization, and Sara Parliament along with Lynn Longmore are on the committee for the order of business. Sara Parliament nominated Charles Blowers as the new permanent Chairman of the Board which was approved unanimously.  Fox was previously the permanent chairman for seven years but now holds the Vice chairman title.

Dwain Bryner and Anne Gibbons thanked Fox for his years of service as the chairman.

Resolution #34-2023 which states that this is the transfer of money from the County General Fund to the County Road Fund for fiscal year 2023-24 for $3,325,077 was approved by the Board.

Custer County Treasurer Sheri Bryant spoke about the first resolution of 2024, Resolution #1-2024 which passed unanimously. Resolution #1-2024 authorized Custer County Treasurer Sheri Bryant to invest funds and administer securities for the coming year.

Resolution #2-2024 is reimbursement for a mileage rate increase from $0.65 to $0.67. The Sheriff is entitled to charge an additional three cents for serving papers which will be $0.70 per mile which was approved by all board members.

Troy Walz with the Custer County Extension office appointed Richard Cool to District #2 as an Extension Board Member which the board approved.

The board also approved Resolution #3-2024, which allows the Highway Superintendent to post load limit signs on individual roads under the Custer County supervision to prevent the deterioration of the roads. The load limit capacity for semi-tractor-trailers is 15 tons and 10 tons for straight trucks indicating unloaded vehicles only.
