The weather was perfect, the smell of barbeque floated through the air, and according to organizers, a possible record number of people attended the Oconto Volunteer Fire Department “Blowin’ the Doors Off” fundraiser the evening of Saturday, June 1st. Attendees came through the gate right at 5:00, found a place for their chairs, and made their way through the line-up of cookers who had been preparing a variety of barbeque dishes for a day or longer.
KCNI was on hand for a few hours so people could register to win prizes commemorating the radio station’s 75th anniversary this September.
