The Blaine County Community Fund (BCCF) invites families and friends to attend their Fall Festival and Chili Cook-off Saturday, October 18 at the Brewster Community Center. The chili will be hot for the free-will donation soup supper at 5:00 PM.
The evening will feature hay-rack rides, food, and a friendly competition to find the area’s best chili.
Each chili entry will have a numbered jar to receive donations for the Community Fund. The soup receiving the greatest dollar amount in donations will be declared the Chili Cook-off winner.
Separately, the BCCF is also conducting a meat drawing fundraiser. Tickets are $20, or six tickets for $100, and available from BCCF board members or by contacting Mallory Sikes at 719-252-9098. Four winners will receive one of two sides of beef and two sides of pork. Proceeds benefit the BCCF, Sandhills FFA, and the Halsey Purdum Service Club.
The drawing for the fundraising event will occur January 2, 2026 during the Sandhills Schools basketball game against Ansley/Litchfield.
The BCCF exists to strengthen local services and facilities in rural towns where resources are limited. BCCF funds go to support local Fire and EMS, as well as community buildings, in and around the Sandhills towns of Purdum, Halsey, Dunning and Brewster
