BROKEN BOW – According to a release, the Broken Bow Police Department will be participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign that will be August 16 through September 4. Officers will be working extra hours and grant money will pay for their additional hours.
Summer is winding down and the last holiday of the summer, Labor Day, is right around the corner which makes it a good time to remind you to “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”
There were 46,394 accidents in Nebraska in 2020, including 1,505 that were alcohol involved. There were 72 fatalities that involved alcohol and 586 injuries In 2020, Custer County alone had 163 accidents that included 3 fatalities and 52 injuries.
Chief Steve Scott said, “We participate in these campaigns in order to better protect the citizens of Broken Bow. I urge all residents to ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over!’”
