BBPD Cites City Ordinance for New Year’s Firework Usage

BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow Police Department has released a statement regarding the legal use of fireworks for New Year’s Eve celebrations this coming Saturday.

According to the release, the BBPD cites Broken Bow’s Ordinance 91.57 in the legal discharge of fireworks; it “allows for ‘permissible fireworks’ to be sold from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, Friday, December 30 and Saturday, December 31.”

The same ordinance allows fireworks to be discharged on December 29 and 30 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. and on December 31 from 9:00 am until 1:00 am on January 1.

Broken Bow Police Chief Steve Scott requests that for the safety of all celebrants, neighbors, and community members, those lighting off fireworks should exercise extreme caution with their displays.
