A full day of activities are planned for the community of Arnold this Saturday, September 20 as the town comes together for their annual Fall Festival. The theme for this year’s Festival celebrates “School Spirit”.
In Arnold tradition, the fun started even before the festival. On Thursday, an aardvark was hidden somewhere in town. The person who finds the aardvark should contact Tiff Varney at 308-546-9340 for $150 in Arnold Chamber Bucks. According to Varney, the reason the aardvark hunt started in Arnold was to stimulate newspaper readership. If the aardvark hasn’t been found yet, check out the September 11 issue of the Arnold Sentinel to find a clue to its location.
Festival Saturday starts with a free-will donation pancake feed hosted by the Arnold Rotary Club from 7:30 – 10:00 AM at the Arnold Lake and Campground Park. Check-in for the Fun Run/Walk also begins at 7:30 at the park, with the race starting at 8:00. Runners are welcome to register at any point up to the start of the event.
The Festival Parade steps off at 11:00 AM, starting at the United Methodist Church before eventually circling around Arnold City Park. Following the parade, the City Park will be the site of numerous activities for both kids and adults. These include bounce houses, face painting and kids games, and an Adult Field Day starting at 1:00 PM. Lunch will be provided at the park by the South Loup 4-H Club.
In the evening, the Rialto Theater will be showing the movie “Bad Boys 2” at 7:00 PM, and Grazers Bar and Grill will feature Music Bingo starting at 8:00 PM.
The organizers of the 2025 Arnold Community Fall Festival thank their numerous sponsors. See the flier below with full details. To leave questions about the Fall Festival visit the Arnold Fall Festival Facebook page.
