Arnold, Arcadia and Gothenburg Qualify for State in District One Act Performances

District One Act play performances took place across the state last week (December 1 – 6). Several area schools placed well in their performance meets.

District D2 – 2 performances were held at Wheeler Central High School in Bartlett. Sargent placed second with their performance of A Bright, Clear Sky. Sargent’s Carsen Vincent was recognized as the meet’s Outstanding Performer #2.

The top three places were decided by Judge’s Preference in a tightly-scored District D2 – 4 group. Arcadia’s Nobody to Murder came out on top with a first-place showing. Litchfield placed third with their production of the play Pearl. Caydence Feldman of Litchfield received honors as Outstanding Performer #2 for the meet held at Gothenburg High School

Area schools took all top-three spots in the District D2 – 5 competition held in Thedford. The Arnold production of All for One took top honors in the district, and garnered an Outstanding Technical Crew recognition as well. Mullen’s production of The Beverly Hillbillies placed second, with Callaway’s Dark Road taking the third spot. Mullen’s Lola Wingebach took home the laurel for Outstanding Performer #1.

In District B-6, Gothenburg took the top spot at the Alliance meet, with their production of Beetlejuice Jr. Gothenburg’s Jackson Aden was awarded Outstanding Performer #1. The Gothenburg team also pulled the Outstanding Techncial Crew accolade. Cozad placed third in the District, presenting Foretold. Cozad’s Koang Deng was Outstading Performer #2.

By taking the top spots in their district competitions, the Arcadia, Arnold and Gothenburg One Act teams advance to the 2025 NSAA State Play Production Championships. The District D-2 schools will once again show off their acting chops at the the Johnny Carson Theater in Norfolk, December 10. Arcadia will present Nobody to Murder at 4:30 PM, followed by Arnold’s production of All for One at 6:00 PM. Gothenburg’s Beetlejuice, Jr. will be presented on Friday, December 12 at 3:00 PM in Norfolk.
