District speech meets have been in action across the state for the past week, and area students have been competing and practicing all year long to give a sharp performance. Three area schools (Arnold, Litchfield, and Gothenburg) secured team district championships. Fourteen district championships were won by individuals or groups, with 42 individuals or groups placed high enough to be invited to state speech.
