Ansley’s Muddy Creek Celebration has Activities for Everyone this Weekend

ANSLEY- Ansley’s Muddy Creek Celebration will begin on Friday, June 27, and go through Sunday, June 29.

The Muddy Creek Celebration starts with pool games and a wiffle ball tournament on Friday at 2 p.m. Main Street games are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Rock It Event Pros, games, rides, prizes, and more. The Ansley FFA petting zoo will open at 4 p.m. Food trucks will open on Main Street at 4 p.m., including Sprockets Famous Freedom Dogs, Budda’s Meats, and Lemonade Shack. The cemetery tour will start at 7:30 p.m. To end the day is the teen glow dance for 7-12 graders at the Ansley Community Building. 

Saturday starts at 8 a.m. with the Wake Up and Walk at the Ansley Walking Trail. The Ansley Rotary will provide a grab & go snack after the walk/run. All proceeds will go to the community food pantry. 

The parade lineup is at 9 a.m., with judging at 9:30 and a 10:15 a.m. start time.  The theme this year is Jukebox Heroes. The kids’ parade will begin before the parade starts at 10. Kids will meet at the post office and have time to return to their spots to watch the parade start. 

At 11:30 a.m. is the Flatwater Bank hot dog feed. All donations will benefit the Ansley Area Rotary Club. 3 hot dog buns will be marked with the Flatwater Bank logo. Those who get the marked bun should find a Flatwater Bank employee to receive a prize. 

The Ansley 4-H will have cow pie BINGO from 11:30 to 2:30. Kids games will start at noon, and the inflatables will be up. Sign up for the Fishing Tournament starts at 12:30 p.m. with fishing happening from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Kids under 16 are able to participate, and everyone will receive a prize. The car show will go from 1 to 4 p.m. The kickball tournament will begin at 2. 

Tank races will start at 4:30 p.m. At 5:30, the Ansley FFA will have a free will supper at the community building. Cornhole will begin at 6:30 p.m. with registration at 6. The beer garden, on the east side of the community building, opens at 6 p.m. Music entertainment for the night will be Brady Jones and HoneyTown. Night swim at the pool will start at 8 p.m. Admission will cost $1.

To conclude the celebration, on Sunday is a scavenger hunt, Bob’s Funfoods at 11 a.m., and a horseshoe tournament at 1 p.m.

The Muddy Creek Celebration has something for all ages. 

“For us, that’s very important, to have toddlers up to adults have something to do the entire weekend,” stated Melissa Schulte, an organizer of the Muddy Creek Celebration.
