Ansley Fire Responds to Vehicle Fire Monday Evening

ANSLEY – A vehicle caught fire near the Fill N Chill in Ansley early Monday evening.

Ansley Volunteer Fire Department Chief Travis Harrop said that the vehicle was undergoing an engine modification when it burst into flames. “They had just put a motor in the car, and they were getting ready to test it. When they hooked the battery charger up, they heard a sizzle and a loud ‘boom,’ and the fuel pump blew up.”

Harrop says that the car was in a workshop at the time of combustion; Ansley Fire responded to the call at about 5:52 p.m., and had the blaze extinguished and was back home before 7 p.m. No injuries were reported.
