The Broken Bow Police Department will officially add its two newest members after their December 18 graduation from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center (NLETC).
The Department is proud to announce that Officer Wyatt Woodward and Officer Jose Ambriz successfully graduated from the NLETC on December 18, 2025, as members of the 221st Basic Law Enforcement Training Class. The graduation ceremony was held at 11:00 AM at the NLETC facility in Grand Island.
The NLETC provides education, training, and evaluation of nearly all Nebraska law enforcement officers. The 16-week basic law enforcement academy includes training in criminal law, patrol procedures, emergency response, defensive tactics, firearms, and community policing.
In a statement, Broken Bow Police Chief Chris Anderson congratulated Officer Woodward and Officer Ambriz on this significant achievement, welcoming them aboard as they begin the next phase of their careers serving the citizens of Broken Bow and Custer County.
“Their dedication, discipline, and professionalism throughout the academy reflect positively on themselves and on the Broken Bow Police Department,” said Anderson.
With formal training complete, Officer Ambriz and Officer Woodward will now begin a 30-day field training process working with a Field Training Officer until that officer considers them fully qualified and ready to begin serving the community.
