Ag Society Ball Raises $34,000 at Annual Ball

BROKEN BOW – The Custer County Ag Society held its seventh annual Winter Ball in fitting conditions on Saturday, as nearly two feet of snow still packed the roadsides around Broken Bow’s One Box Convention Center.

Over 300 people were in attendance, according to Fairgrounds Administrator Michelle Nelson, which accounted for nearly every seat at the banquet filled. Those 300-plus attendees brought just over $34,000 to the Ag Society through bidding on live and silent auction items.

Naturally, a “Heads and Tails” game was played by willing participants, and after the meal, the floor cleared for dancing to the music of Borderline, which brought out KRVN’s Adam Smith to make a few remarks of his own.

Additionally, the 313 on hand congratulated two individuals for their tireless support of the fairgrounds over the past year: Dwain and Deb Bryner received this year’s “Friend of the Fair” award for their ongoing commitment to the Ag Society’s mission and upkeep of the Custer County Fairgrounds, which included regular attendance at the Ag Society’s monthly meetings and countless volunteer hours before, during, and after the county fair.
