Mark your calendars for the 69th Annual Arcadia Fall Festival this Labor Day weekend. Starting on Saturday, September 2 and continuing through Monday, September 4, the annual event promises non-stop activity and is sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion Post #251.
The fun kicks off Saturday morning at 8:00 with a 5K Fun Run and a sand volleyball tournament. Then from 11-11:45 a.m., registration will be held at Scooters Saloon for the RKD Poker Run. Other activities on Saturday include face painting and water bounce houses at the Riverside Park, as well as a pinochle tournament at the Community Center. A ranch rodeo gets underway at the ballpark at 1:00 that afternoon, the Sons of the American Legion BBQ cook-off is planned for 5:30 p.m. at the Riverside Park, and the day’s fun concludes with the Arcadia High School Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 7:00 that evening.
Fall Festival activity continues on Sunday starting with a pancake feed at 8:00 that morning, followed by a 10 a.m. community worship service at the ballpark. Kids’ games and races begin at 1:00 that afternoon and at 2:00, it’s the demolition derby. There is an admission fee for the derby.
On Monday morning, the Arcadia Labor Day Show-N-Shine is at 8:00 on Bridge Street, and the Fall Festival Parade starts at 10:30. “On My Bucket List” is this year’s parade theme. The crowning of Miss Fall Festival 2023 follows the parade, and a baked potato bar will be held at the Legion Club.
