4th Annual “Pints For Polio” Oct. 25 at Kinkaiders Brewing Company

Come and “Party with a Purpose” at Kinkaider Brewing Company this Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. with the Broken Bow Area Rotary.

The cost of the event is $15 and with that purchase, you get a Rotary and Kinkaiders Collaborative Collectors Glass and a free beer token. Once purchased, the glass is yours to keep.

This event is for everyone, so you are invited to bring the whole family out, enjoy some refreshing drinks, and get a look at a historic iron lung.

Robert Stabb, a Broken Bow Area Rotary Member told KCNI/KBBN what the iron lung is.
“The Iron Lung, if you don’t know, was used to help with the treatment in Polio. Polio, being a disease that slowly paralyzed your muscles. The Iron lung actually breathed for you. It is an antique medical device that we will have on display and kids just absolutely love seeing it. It has been a hit every year.”

This event allows the Broken Bow Area Rotary to build funds to give to Rotary International to help eradicate polio.

Staab also spoke about how the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is matching every dollar raised at this event.

“For every dollar that we raise during “Pints for Polio”, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is matching that dollar with two dollars. So it is a huge deal. Every dollar we make with the “Pints for Polio” gets just stacked and given and every single dollar goes for the purpose of eradicating polio internationally.”

The Broken Bow Area Rotary is also putting on a wine basket raffle and one lucky person will win.
