3rd Annual Service Above Self Golf Tournament June 17 & Burger Bash June 16

BROKEN BOW—The third annual Service Above Self Golf Tournament is scheduled for this Friday, June 17 at the Broken Bow Golf Club. The golf tournament is a 9-hole, two-person scramble for $60 per team. Registration at 1 p.m. and the tournament starts at 1:30 p.m.

Mulligans will be available for purchase, participants have lots of chances to win prizes, and food will be available on site. You may sign up on June 17 or pre-register by emailing [email protected].

Broken Bow Area Rotary Club President Jessica McCaslin said it will be a fun, laid-back day and appreciates all of the sponsors assisting with the tournament and prizes. The annual event splits its proceeds between the Broken Bow Area Rotary Club and the TeamMates Mentoring program.

“It will be split between Rotary and Teammates. Teammates will be out there and they will have food. Come out and have lunch too!” McCaslin told KCNI/KBBN.

Special Guest DeMoine Adams will be in attendance during Friday’s golf tournament. He is the current Chief Executive Officer for Nebraska TeamMates and is a former Cornhusker rush end.

Teammates is also hosting a Burger Bash at Grocery Kart on Thursday, June 16 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Burger, chips, and drinks available for free-will donation. DeMoine Adams will also be at Thursday’s Burger Bash.

In addition to the golf scramble on Friday, McCaslin encourages the public to come for lunch or play cornhole starting at 11 a.m.

“It’s just going to be a lot of fun! Come on out and join us and have a good time,” McCaslin said.

McCaslin thanked the tournament coordinator Kaci Johnson and event sponsors Nebraska State Bank, Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center, Becton Dickinson, Adams Land and Cattle, Legends Neighborhood Grill, First Interstate Bank, Geared 4 Sports, Runza, Designs of Distinction, Gary’s Super Foods, and Smoke Shack.
