Broken Bow Police Respond to Over 115 Calls During “Drive Sober” Campaign

BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow Police Department participated in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, funded by the Nebraska Department of Highway Safety.

The selective ran from August 19 through September 5 and allowed officers to work overtime hours in an effort to decrease the number of drunk and impaired drivers on the streets of Broken Bow.

During that time frame officers responded to 115 calls for service including reports of speeding, disturbances, stop sign violations, and DUIs.

Officers made a total of 56 traffic stops leading to 7 total citations, and 46 warnings and vehicle defects.  The traffic stops led to several uniform citations and arrests, including  two arrests for DUI and one arrest for Terroristic Threats.
