Two Vehicle Accident on North Highway 21

On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at approximately 1:41 p.m., the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two-vehicle injury accident located at or near mile marker 337 on North Highway 21, North of Lexington.

It was then determined that the northbound vehicle was being driven by  76-year-old Donna Prentice and occupied by a passenger, 66-year-old Bobby Prentice, both of Oconto, Nebraska had crossed the center line and collided with a southbound pickup truck being driven by 45-year-old Patrick Berggren of Broken Bow, Nebraska. The collision caused the vehicle being driven by Prentice to roll, where it came to a stop in the northbound lane of Highway 21 with her trapped inside.

The Lexington Rescue Department extracted Prentice where she and her passenger were transported to Lexington Regional Health Center for treatment of injuries that were sustained in the crash. Berggren was treated and released at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
