Healing Hearts and Families is hosting its 11th annual gala event, “denim and diamonds” this Saturday, October 4. The gala will start at 5:30 PM, at the One Box Convention Center in Broken Bow.
Healing Hearts and Families provides assistance to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing needed services and support. The organization also works to educate the public through outreach activities and public education programs to increase awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, & bullying.
Per Healing Hearts and Families, Nebraska crisis lines received 173 calls per day in 2024 – a call every 6 minutes. In 2024, 422 victims received services thanks to donations to Healing Hearts and Families.
While tickets to attend the denim and diamonds gala are no longer available, donations can be made to support Healing Hearts and Families at any time.
According to Healing Hearts and Families, a donation of $150 can buy a week’s worth of groceries for a fleeing family, pay for legal expenses, or be used for a down payment or utilities for a living expense. $100 could purchase a car seat, school supplies, or life-sustaining medication. Even a donation of $50 helps with gas, food, or diapers for a family in need.
More information on the Healing Hearts and Families mission and how to donate can be found on the organization’s Facebook page or at healingheartsandfamilies.com.
