Back in 1984, Rick Siebert purchased a small, unknown radio station in Fairbury, Nebraska (KGMT 1310 AM). He then built KUTT 99.3 FM The Spirit, from the ground up. It was a 3,000 watt radio station with a 400 foot tower. It was his vision of the future that has made KUTT 99.5 into the Powerhouse it is today. Now the tower, located near Harbine, NE, is 750 feet tall and produces a 100,000 watt signal. KUTT’s signal reaches most of Southeast Nebraska and Northeast Kansas.
In October of 2015 Mike Flood of Flood Communications purchased KUTT-FM 99.5 Fairbury-Beatrice, and our sister stations KWBE 1450-AM Beatrice, and KGMT-AM 1310 Fairbury.
Flood is a broadcaster and lawyer from Norfolk who also served in the Nebraska Legislature from 2005-2013, serving as speaker of the Legislature from 2007-2013.

Flood and his subsidiary companies also own radio stations KUSO and KNEN in Norfolk; KNCY in Nebraska City; KBIE in Auburn, and KBBX, which broadcasts a regional Spanish speaking format to the Lincoln and Omaha areas.
