Nebraska Wrestling to Face #13 North Carolina

The No. 10 Nebraska wrestling team looks to continue its early-season success this week when No. 13 North Carolina visits the Devaney Center on Wednesday. The dual, marks the 15th time the teams have squared off against one another on the mat. This series dates back to the 1988-89 season, where the Huskers dropped the first matchup, but won the next 12. Fourteen Huskers traveled to Pleasant Hill, Iowa, last weekend to compete in the Grand View Open. NU had seven top-five finishers, including two individual champions in Boo Dryden (133) and Nathan Haas (184).

Nebraska head coach Mark Manning visited with the media on Monday. Nebraska will host the Big Ten Wrestling Championships this year. While the event won’t take place until early March, coach Manning said that knowing they will host the conference championships has already created some energy in the wrestling room.
